By the way, it is an IronPython bug to silently replace characters
with ?-marks. CPython produces this warning:

sys:1: DeprecationWarning: Non-ASCII character '\xc3' in file test.py
on line 1, but no encoding declared; see
http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0263.html for details
